Hexagram 11-Peace
In the aftermath of two of the more contentious battles breaking we have cause to rejoice and rest in Peace.
Readers of my other website Durham Cool will be heartened to hear more about Durham NC news now that President Obama has not granted the easement for DPAL to dig pipe below the Missouri River (on 1851 Laramie Treaty land)and Governor McCorry has succeeded to Roy Cooper.
When you receive this hexagram it is an indication that you have arrived at a moment where conditions are favorable for a peaceful resolution/union to either the two wolves fighting (good/base) in your head or an external battle/conflict. This is a time for quiet planning sans grand gestures; steadily building upon incremental increases rather than quantum leaps.
Continued momentum in good behavior rather than a slide back into base behaviors. Let’s say you reached a milestone in a 12 step program, 31 days sobriety. Great time to solidify this positive outcome with activities that encourage your sobriety rather than place yourself in an environment where temptation is present.
Consider that most of the time when you have a conflict it originates in your own inner discord. It is wise to sit (meditation) with the problem and find peace within yourself prior to having a conversation with the other.
PEACE
Heaven exists on earth for those who
maintain correct thoughts and actions.
This hexagram signifies a time similar to spring: there is a strong flow of energy, and harmony and prosperity are the rewards of those who correctly balance their higher and lower natures. It is by remaining aware of our inferior self while ensuring that the superior self governs our conduct that we arrive in a state of peace.
See yourself as a young tree now. The ground around you is fertile; sun and water and wind are plentiful. By maintaining your focus on moving upward toward light, clarity, and purity you can reach great heights. If you become entangled in inferior things, you will not enjoy the full benefit of this gracious hour. Stay balanced, innocent, and correct, and go

Sogyal Rinpoche ~ A simple practice of meditation
The basics of meditation are actually very simple. Anyone can meditate anywhere, any time. Sit in an upright, comfortable and relaxed position. Keep your mouth slightly open as if you were about to say “Ah”, and breathe through the mouth. Keep your eyes open. Allow your gaze to be relaxed and natural. Don’t focus your gaze too strongly or start a running commentary about what you see. Simply relax your mind. Let your mind be as-it-is: open, spacious, and calm, yet completely aware. Sit quietly: body still, speech silent, mind at peace. Neither block thoughts, emotions, and sensations, nor follow after them. Allow them to rise, but maintain a presence of mind, a center of awareness. When you remain in awareness, you see that your thoughts are not really you. They are passing clouds, not the sky-like mind they pass through. Gradually, you become free of thoughts. You discover the confidence of your true nature and come to rest in natural great peace. This teaching is an extract from a teaching Rinpoche gave in Melbourne in 2013.
